Roots before Fruit

A tiny seed is planted.

With the right amount of nutrients, sun and water..healthy growth can occur.

Roots grow first.

A proper root system creates a firm foundation to weather the storms the plant will endure.

Continued feeding keeps the roots growing stronger.

When the root system is in place and strong enough, the plant begins to push out of the mud and dirt.

Although not fully realized yet, the plant begins to take the shape of it’s predecessor (or the seed bearer.)

The root system continues to grow. The root system must always remain alive.

The plant can now produce leaves and branches..but no fruit yet.
Roots before fruit.

Everyone likes the fruit. It’s usually pretty and tasty. It’s usually what the plant is known for. No one pays much attention to the roots.

Once the time has come for flowers or fruit, the root system must be stronger than ever.

Producing fruit is what the plant was intended to do. However, it is not possible without a healthy root system.

And if a large portion of the root system is destroyed, a corresponding portion of the leaves and branches will die.

Roots are important.

“Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:7 (NLT)

“Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.” Ephesians 3:17-18 (MSG)

How are your roots?
Are you spending time in the Word and in prayer to deepen and strengthen your root system?
Are you trying to produce pretty fruit while your root system decays?

Why do they call it Fruity Pebbles?

fruit trees produce fruit..it’s that simple

fruit trees…

am I producing ANY fruit?…am I making a difference?…am I causing anyone else to stray?…am I truly producing GOOD fruit or am I producing bad fruit?
