People Will Talk..

Yesterday I asked the question, “What will they say about you when you die?” It has stirred up some interesting discussions and has been a thought-provoking question. I asked this question in our “dewdes” small group Friday night and one of the fellas responded like this:

I want people to say, “He had incredible faith!”

Dang! That’s what I want people to say about me too. Not to lift me up..but because that points to the Father. Follow me here..
Habakkuk 2:4 says, “The righteous will live by faith.”
Then, Paul says in Romans 1:17, “This good news tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by FAITH. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
And we know our life comes from God himself.
So, to live with an incredible faith, that is God-given, and to act on that faith..well..we could change the stinking world!

Seriously..we could..well..Christ working through us..we could change the world!!

We began reading Romans today as a body of believers. And Paul is writing to encourage the Roman Christians. They were being persecuted left and right. They were dying for their faith. BUT their story was spreading around the civilized world. Their acts of bravery and boldness and true FAITH were having an impact worldwide. They were changing the world with their faith.

Paul says in verse 8,

“Let me say first that I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith in him is being talked about all over the world.”

WOW..that is some legacy. It points to Christ..and their faith in him..and how THAT changes the world!

I want THAT kind of faith..
I want to be part of a movement that changes the world..
I want a faith that people are talking about..
It’s revolution time!

Who’s with me?

I love it! I want to live my faith in a way that is contagious…that provokes others to exercise their faith. Thanks for this!
