Sunday Funny: Don’t Mess With the Goose

Having twin two year olds is quite an experience..and maybe I’ll write about some of their adventures as they grow up. Most nights I have the pleasure of reading them a story or two and then tucking them into their beds. And some of the nursery rhymes are just ridiculous. Check out the goose! Better yet, watch out for the goose! And please..PLEASE..SAY YOUR PRAYERS!!!

Since my children are grown and now I have grandchildren to read to I have been puzzled that I ever read most of the nursery rhymes to my children. Three men in a tub?? Jack and Jill fell down th hill, Humpty Dumpty fell off the wall and never recovered. Even thou I have most of these rhyems memorized from my childhood days I don’t share or read most of them with my grandchildren. What were people thinking when they wrote them. But I am defiantly all for the prayers before bedtime. “Teach them in the way they should go” They really need it after all those horrifying ryhmes.

I’m all for the reinforcement of bedtime prayers.

But, I think I’d be taking the dirty old man out for hanging out in the lady’s chamber in nothing more than a towel! Hahaha.

All those old rhymes and lullabies, and even classic children’s stories are horrible! “Down will come baby, cradle and all.” / “If I should die before I wake.” … Yikes!

Yet somehow, Goosey Goosey Gander had eluded me all these years. Thanks for sharing.
