normal is easy if you’re four

One night as I was reading with Anna Beth (my four year old) in her children’s Bible she noticed that in the pictures the Bible characters were kneeling when they prayed. So, wanting to be like those characters in the Bible (Abraham, Jacob, Joshua, Elijah, etc.) she implored me to get down on my knees for our prayer time. That has been two weeks ago. It is now completely NORMAL for our prayer time to be in a humbled, reverent state, bowing in submission and surrender to our King.

So many things are not taught, but rather caught. And this time, my daughter has done the modeling and I am now following her lead. Her NORMAL (because she knows nothing else other than, “that’s what they do in the Bible”) has now become my NORMAL. Normal can be alot easier when you don’t care what other people think or say.

Prayer is powerful. Prayer in a vulnerable state of mind and body is a great place to start a conversation with a great King.
